Welcome to NicksHomeReno. By using our website or engaging our renovation services, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Services Overview
NicksHomeReno provides residential and light commercial renovation services throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including but not limited to kitchen and bathroom renovations, basement finishing, flooring installation, carpentry, tiling, and general repairs.
2. Quote and Consultation Process
Our standard process includes:
- Initial contact via phone, email, or website form
- Site visit or video consultation to assess project scope
- Written quote with detailed scope of work, materials, timeline, and pricing
- Contract signing and deposit payment to secure schedule
- Project execution with ongoing communication
- Final walk-through and warranty documentation
Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified. Pricing may change if material costs or project scope changes significantly.
3. Contracts and Agreements
All projects require a signed written contract that details:
- Scope of work and specifications
- Project timeline and schedule
- Payment terms and schedule
- Materials to be used
- Warranty terms
- Change order process
4. Payment Terms
Standard payment structure:
- Deposit required to secure materials and schedule project start
- Progress payments at agreed milestones (e.g., framing complete, drywall finished)
- Final payment upon project completion and client approval
Specific payment terms will be outlined in your contract. Late payments may result in work stoppage.
5. Change Orders
Any changes to the agreed scope of work must be documented through our change order process. Change orders will include:
- Description of the change
- Cost adjustment (if applicable)
- Timeline impact
- Written approval from client before proceeding
6. Permits and Inspections
When required, we will obtain necessary building permits and coordinate city inspections. Permit costs are typically included in your quote or billed separately as outlined in your contract. The client is responsible for ensuring all work complies with local bylaws and obtaining any special approvals (e.g., condo board approval).
7. Workmanship Warranty
We provide a workmanship warranty as outlined in your contract. This warranty covers defects in our work but does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage from misuse or lack of maintenance
- Manufacturer defects in materials or equipment
- Issues arising from client-supplied materials
- Damage from events beyond our control (flooding, fire, etc.)
8. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:
- Provide accurate information about property conditions
- Ensure access to work areas during scheduled times
- Secure pets and remove valuable or fragile items from work areas
- Make timely decisions on selections and approvals to avoid delays
- Make payments according to the agreed schedule
- Notify us promptly of any concerns during the project
9. Site Conditions and Safety
We maintain clean and safe work sites with proper protective measures. We are WSIB compliant and fully insured. Clients and visitors enter work areas at their own risk and should follow any safety instructions provided.
10. Cancellation and Termination
Either party may terminate the contract under terms specified in the written agreement. If the client cancels after work has begun, they are responsible for:
- Payment for all work completed to date
- Materials ordered or purchased
- Any non-refundable costs incurred
11. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the contract value of the specific project. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of income, or inconvenience.
12. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes will be resolved through mediation or arbitration in Ontario, Canada, before pursuing legal action.
13. Insurance and WSIB
NicksHomeReno maintains general liability insurance and is WSIB compliant. Certificates of insurance can be provided upon request.
14. Subcontractors
We engage licensed subcontractors for electrical, plumbing, and other specialized trades as required. All subcontractors are properly licensed and insured.
15. Website Use
The content on our website is for informational purposes only. Photos in our gallery may be representative examples. Actual results may vary based on your specific project, materials, and site conditions.
16. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, images, and logos, is the property of NicksHomeReno and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce or use our content without written permission.
17. Privacy
Your use of our website and services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect and use your information.
18. Changes to Terms

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any legal proceedings will be conducted in Ontario courts.
